Eyelet for Pleated Insect Screen Manufacturing

This eyelet is designed to finish cord, guide and connection passages in pleated insect screen production. It creates a controlled edge around the prepared opening and supports the screen material with the selected rear washer.

The production inner diameter is 5.85 mm / 0.230 in. After installation, the finished passage is approximately 6 mm / 0.236 in. The eyelet has an 11.6 mm / 0.457 in outer diameter, 6.4 mm / 0.252 in overall height and 5.3 mm / 0.209 in barrel height.

How Does It Support Pleated Screen Production?

The eyelet creates a finished passage around the opening used by a screen cord, thread or guide component. This helps reduce uncontrolled contact between the moving component and the edge of the screen material.

A metal or plastic washer increases the rear contact area. This helps support the material over a wider surface instead of concentrating the holding force around the narrow edge of the eyelet.

Correct hole preparation, washer selection and die adjustment can help reduce the risk of the screen material pulling away around the eyelet.

Difference from the 4.5 mm / 0.177 in Version

The smaller version creates a narrower passage. This approximately 6 mm / 0.236 in model may be considered for thicker cords, guides or connection components.

Selection must be based on the actual cord diameter, screen-strip width, hole position and setting-die compatibility.

Metal Washer or Plastic Washer?

A metal washer may be selected when a firmer rear support and a conventional metal installation structure are preferred.

A plastic washer may be considered when a lighter and softer rear support is more suitable for the selected screen material.

Metal and plastic washers are separate product options and must not be shown as supplied together.

Setting Die and Hole Preparation

Use a setting die intended for standard eyelets in the approximately 6 mm / 0.236 in inner-opening group. Test the eyelet, selected washer and actual screen material before repeated production.

A separate punching die may be used to prepare the opening. The punching die prepares the material only; a setting die is still required to close the eyelet over the washer.
