Long-Barrel Eyelet for Narrow Pleated Screen Systems

This long-barrel pleated insect screen eyelet is intended for small cord, guide and connection openings in narrow systems, narrow strips and folded or layered screen materials.

The eyelet has a 4.5 mm / 0.177 in inner diameter, 8.3 mm / 0.327 in outer diameter and 7.3 mm / 0.287 in barrel height. Its longer barrel provides additional reach when the standard version does not pass sufficiently through the screen layers.

A metal or plastic washer supports the rear side and increases the contact area around the opening. Correct installation helps hold the screen material more evenly and can reduce the risk of pulling away around the eyelet.

Metal Washer or Plastic Washer?

A metal washer may be selected when firmer rear support and a conventional metal installation structure are preferred.

A plastic washer may be considered when a lighter and softer rear support is more suitable for the screen strip.

Metal and plastic washers are separate product options and must not be shown as supplied together.

How Do the Long Barrel and Washer Improve the Hold?

The longer barrel provides additional reach through folded or layered screen material. The washer increases the rear contact area and helps distribute installation pressure over a wider section of the strip.

Installation and Hole Preparation

Use a setting die intended for eyelets with an inner diameter of approximately 4.5–5 mm / 0.177–0.197 in. Test the long barrel, selected washer and actual screen material together before repeated production.

Do not prepare an oversized or irregular opening. The hole must also remain far enough from the strip edge to reduce tearing and pull-away risk.
