A separate 5 mm / 0.197 in punching die can be used to prepare the installation hole. Material thickness, stretch and the number of layers may affect the final hole requirement, so a sample test is recommended.

Installation Steps

1. Mark the required eyelet position.
2. Check the material thickness and number of layers.
3. Prepare a controlled opening with the compatible punching die.
4. Insert the eyelet through the front of the material.
5. Position the selected plastic or metal washer on the rear side.
6. Centre the eyelet and washer in the compatible setting die.
7. Apply the press gradually and evenly.
8. Check that the barrel is formed evenly over the washer.

Selection and Installation Warnings

• Do not interpret the product as having a 10 mm / 0.394 in inner diameter.
• Use the verified 5.3 mm / 0.209 in inner diameter when selecting cords and dies.
• Check the 9.2 mm / 0.362 in outer diameter and 6 mm / 0.236 in barrel height.
• Do not prepare an opening larger than required.
• Keep the eyelet and washer centred in the setting die.
• Do not operate the setting die at an angle.
• Avoid excessive pressure that may crush the eyelet or damage the surface.
• Perform a sample installation before starting full production.
