Acrylic Rivet Pearls – 4 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm

Acrylic rivet pearls are available in 4 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm sizes in Cream, Gold, Nickel and Black Nickel. Pack sizes are 1250, 1000 and 750 sets. Match the correct setting die and validate the production textile before bulk work.

Acrylic Rivet Pearls

Acrylic rivet pearls are mechanically set decorative components for garments, eveningwear, bridalwear, knitwear, shirts, denim, bags, footwear and textile accessories. The E-Dugme range includes 4 mm / 0.16 in, 6 mm / 0.24 in and 8 mm / 0.31 in sizes in Cream, Gold, Nickel (Silver) and Black Nickel (Gunmetal). The visible pearl body is acrylic and the rear mounting component is a stainless nail. These are not natural pearls, drilled jewellery beads or adhesive half pearls.

Pack quantity changes with diameter: 4 mm products are supplied in 1250-piece packs, 6 mm products in 1000-piece packs and 8 mm products in 750-piece packs. Correct selection should consider diameter, textile thickness, stretch, pattern density, finish contrast, production quantity and the required setting die together.

What Is an Acrylic Rivet Pearl?

An acrylic rivet pearl uses a decorative pearl body on the visible side and a stainless mounting nail on the reverse side. The two components are aligned through the textile and compressed with a compatible die. Similar products may be searched as press pearls, stud pearls, imitation pearls or garment pearls. Unlike sew-on beads, no thread is required; unlike adhesive flatback pearls, the attachment is mechanical and works from both sides of the material.

The visible body in this category is acrylic, not natural pearl. The stainless specification refers to the mounting nail. This category is therefore different from jewellery beads, adhesive half pearls and functional pearl buttons or snaps.

Choosing the Right Rivet Pearl Size

Diameter changes both appearance and production behavior. A 4 mm pearl is useful for fine detail, 6 mm gives balanced visibility and 8 mm creates a stronger raised statement. Size also changes center spacing, the number of pieces required for a motif, textile flexibility and the setting die. When scale is uncertain, compare all three sizes on the actual production textile.

  • Costume, stagewear and design collections
  • Logos, lettering, monograms, borders and geometric motifs

Finish Options

Cream gives a soft classic pearl appearance. Gold creates a warm decorative effect. Nickel (Silver) looks brighter and more modern, while Black Nickel (Gunmetal) creates a darker metallic and contemporary finish. Screen images are useful for preselection, but textile surface, lighting and surrounding hardware can change perceived shade.

Bridalwear, Eveningwear and Knitwear

Rivet pearls can be used on bodices, shoulders, necklines, cuffs, lace motifs, skirt panels and decorative lines. Cream supports a classic pearl aesthetic while Gold, Nickel and Black Nickel shift the design toward warmer or more metallic styling. On knitwear, loop structure and stretch direction matter. Very dense pearl placement may reduce flexibility, so spacing should be tested on the real textile.

Denim, Thick Fabrics and Bags

With denim, gabardine, quilted panels and multilayer constructions, total thickness is often the critical variable. A press setup that works on one layer may not close correctly through a pocket corner or reinforced seam. Do not solve the problem simply by increasing pressure. Review nail reach, die alignment and construction thickness together.

Fine and Delicate Fabrics

Chiffon, tulle, organza and fine satin can pull, pucker or distort around the nail opening. A smaller diameter may look more proportional, but mechanical suitability still requires sampling. If a support layer is added, total thickness changes and nail reach must be retested. Bulk production should begin only after both front and reverse of the sample are approved.

Pearl Setting Die and Press Compatibility

The setting die supports the acrylic pearl body and directs the stainless nail along the center line. A matching nominal diameter alone does not guarantee compatibility because cavity shape and nail geometry also matter. An incorrect die can scratch, tilt, compress or crack the pearl.

For this range, KLP004INC for 4 mm, KLP006INC for 6 mm and KLP008INC for 8 mm can be evaluated as the relevant size groups. A manual bench press, compatible hand setter or production press may be used when the correct die can be mounted and aligned.

How to Set a Rivet Pearl

  1. Mark pearl centers at true scale.
  2. Place the textile flat without unintended tension.
  3. Position the pearl body on the face and stainless nail on the reverse.
  4. Confirm that the correct die centers both components.
  5. Apply controlled pressure and inspect the first sample from both sides.
  6. Approve the sample before bulk production.

Quality Control After Setting

The pearl should be centered and free from cracks, deep marks or excessive compression. On the reverse, the nail should close securely without leaving a sharp projection. Pattern alignment, center spacing and finish consistency should also be checked. If a pearl feels loose, review die alignment, nail orientation and textile thickness before increasing pressure.

Pack Quantity and Production Planning

Four-millimeter products contain 1250 sets, 6 mm products 1000 sets and 8 mm products 750 sets. Purchasing should be based on the approved final motif. If one garment uses 20 six-millimeter pearls and the order is 100 garments, the theoretical requirement is 2000 sets before samples, setup pieces, rejects, dropped components and service stock.

Rivet Pearls vs Pearl Buttons and Adhesive Pearls

Rivet pearls are decorative acrylic bodies mechanically set with stainless nails. Pearl buttons or pearlescent snaps are functional fastening systems. Adhesive pearls depend on glue, while sew-on pearls use thread and needle. If the goal is a mechanically set decorative pearl point, this category is the relevant product family.

Wash, Care and Wear Validation

A firm setting immediately after pressing does not automatically predict lifetime performance. Washing, dry cleaning, ironing, abrasion, stretch and repeated flexing depend on textile structure and final use. Commercial producers should validate the fully assembled sample under the intended care process. Do not place a hot iron directly on the acrylic pearl.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an acrylic rivet pearl?

It is an acrylic pearl body mechanically attached to a textile or accessory surface with a stainless mounting nail, compatible die and press or hand setter.

Are these natural pearls?

No. The visible body is acrylic; the mounting nail is stainless.

Which sizes are available?

4 mm / 0.16 in, 6 mm / 0.24 in and 8 mm / 0.31 in.

Which finishes are available?

Cream, Gold, Nickel (Silver) and Black Nickel (Gunmetal).

How many pieces are in a pack?

4 mm products contain 1250 sets, 6 mm products 1000 and 8 mm products 750.

Are mounting nails included?

In this product family, acrylic pearl bodies and matching stainless mounting nails are supplied as sets.

Will any die with the same nominal size work?

Not necessarily. Die cavity and nail geometry must physically match the product.

Can rivet pearls be used on delicate fabrics?

They can be evaluated, but the actual production textile should be sampled for pulling, puckering and tearing risk.

Can they be used on knitwear?

Yes, but loop structure and stretch direction require separate spacing and press tests.

Can the finished item be washed?

Care performance depends on textile, setting quality and care method. Validate the finished article under its intended process.
