Eyelet Setting Die Set for 4.5–13 mm / 0.177–0.512 in Eyelets
This manual eyelet installation set combines six setting dies covering selected eyelet inner diameters between 4.5 mm / 0.177 in and 13 mm / 0.512 in. A long-handle hand-hit tool is included so the compatible dies can be used manually with a hammer.
The set is intended for sampling, repairs, craft projects and small-volume workshop applications. It provides several commonly used eyelet setting dies in one package without including eyelets, washers or a press machine.
Package clarification: The set contains only the six inner-diameter groups stated in the table. Intermediate eyelet measurements and other setting dies are not included.

Total package contents: six complete eyelet setting dies and one long-handle hand-hit setting tool.
What Do the Measurements Represent?
The measurements shown in the table refer to the approximate inner diameter of compatible eyelets. They do not represent the outer cap diameter of the eyelet or the diameter of the hole that should be cut before installation.
Eyelets with similar inner diameters may have different barrel diameters, barrel heights, cap profiles, materials and washer constructions. A matching inner diameter alone does not guarantee complete die compatibility.
Compatibility warning: Check the actual eyelet, washer and setting die together before production. The barrel diameter, barrel height, cap profile, washer construction and material thickness must also be evaluated.
How Is the Set Used?
- Measure the actual inner diameter of the eyelet.
- Check the barrel, cap and washer construction.
- Select the compatible upper and lower setting die.
- Fit the die components to the long-handle hand-hit tool.
- Position the eyelet and washer correctly on the prepared material.
- Place the assembly on a hard, level and stable surface.
- Apply controlled vertical hammer strikes.
- Inspect the finished installation before continuing production.
Excessive or angled hammer strikes may crush the eyelet, fold its barrel unevenly, move the washer or damage the application material.
When Should This Set Be Selected?
- When several selected eyelet measurements are used,
- When a press machine is not available,
- For samples and prototype work,
- For repairs and alterations,
- For craft and small workshop applications,
- For installation points that cannot be reached with a press,
- When manual installation with a hammer is preferred.
Applications
- Bags and textile accessories
- Belts and leather goods
- Shoes and boots
- Curtains and home textiles
- Tarpaulins, awnings and banners
- Card labels and sample cards
- Craft and repair projects
The application area does not confirm compatibility by itself. The actual eyelet construction and setting die must be checked together.
Items Not Included
- Eyelets or grommets
- Metal or plastic washers
- Manual hand press or other press machine
- Hole-cutting or punching dies
- Hammer
- Worktable and additional hand tools
Hole preparation warning: KLP0002, KLP0003, KLP0004, KLP0005, KLP0024 and KLP0028 are standard setting dies. They are not self-punching dies and do not replace a separate hole-cutting tool.
Die Connection Compatibility
The setting dies may be supplied with different connection standards for locally manufactured or international equipment. All dies in the package must use the same connection standard and must match the long-handle hand-hit tool.
M6, M8 and approximate UNC references describe the die connection only. They do not describe the eyelet measurement. Connections with different thread diameters or thread pitches must not be forced together.
Manual Work and Production Use
The long-handle hand-hit tool is most suitable for samples, repairs, craft projects and small-volume work. For repetitive production, a compatible manual hand press may provide more consistent pressure.
The connection standard of the dies must be checked before moving them from the hand-hit tool to a press machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many products are supplied?
The package contains six complete eyelet setting dies and one long-handle hand-hit setting tool.
Which inner diameters are covered?
The package covers approximately 4.5–5 mm / 0.177–0.197 in, 5–5.6 mm / 0.197–0.220 in, 6 mm / 0.236 in, 8–8.5 mm / 0.315–0.335 in, 9.5 mm / 0.374 in and 13 mm / 0.512 in.
Do the measurements represent the outer cap diameter?
They represent the approximate eyelet inner diameter. They do not represent the outer cap diameter.
Are eyelets and washers supplied?
Eyelets and washers must be purchased separately.
Is a manual hand press supplied?
The package contains a long-handle hand-hit tool. A press machine is not supplied.
Is a hammer supplied?
A hammer must be obtained separately.
Are hole-cutting tools supplied?
The package contains standard setting dies only. Hole-cutting tools must be purchased separately.
Are the setting dies self-punching?
The included setting dies do not punch the material during installation.
Does a matching inner diameter guarantee compatibility?
The eyelet barrel, cap profile, washer construction, material and die connection must also be compatible.
Is this set intended for repetitive production?
The hand-hit tool is intended primarily for sampling, repairs and small-volume work. A compatible press should be considered for repetitive production.
