What Is This 8 mm / 0.31 in Ring-Style Prong Snap Setting Die Used For?

This setting die is used to install 8.2 mm top prong / 8 mm product group ring-style prong baby snap fasteners on textile products. It helps hold the snap parts in a more controlled position during pressing and supports cleaner installation.

It can be used for 8 mm ring-style baby snaps on baby bodysuits, rompers, children’s garments, shirts, blouses, aprons, pajamas, handmade sewing projects and light textile products.

Compatible Snap Type

This tool is designed for 8.2 mm top prong / 8 mm product group ring-style or perforated prong snap fasteners. This snap group is often described commercially as 8 mm baby prong snaps.

Important: Do not choose only by the word “prong snap”. Ring-style, capped and pearl prong snaps have different visible top structures and different setting die requirements.

Not for Capped or Pearl Prong Snaps

Capped prong snaps have a closed cap top. Pearl snaps have a decorative and more sensitive visible top. This tool is made for ring-style / perforated prong snap construction and should not be used as a capped snap or pearl snap setting die.
