Measure the Actual Opening, Not the Whole Cover

Do not choose zipper length from the full outside dimensions of the pillow or cushion. Mark the actual zipper start and end points on the sewing pattern. Seam allowance, piping, lining thickness, corners and the space needed to remove the insert all influence the ideal zipper length.

Before larger production, make a sample using the actual fabric, lining, piping and filling. This helps you avoid zipper openings that are too short for easy insert removal or unnecessarily long for a clean finished edge.

Secure Both Cut Ends

Continuous zipper chain does not include factory-finished end stops at each cut point. After cutting, use secure stitching, zipper stops, folded tape finishing or another construction method suited to your cover. Proper finishing helps prevent the slider from running off the chain during use.

Standard Nylon Coil for Indoor Textile Products

This is a standard nylon coil zipper system, not a TPU-coated water-resistant zipper. It is intended for indoor pillows, cushions, seat pads, textile covers and similar home-textile projects.
